Tonda vacuformed cab and rear fenders, A chassis made of parts of 2 Italeri GMC's and than they bring a good kit. Ah, it's just a test in painting and diorama. A museum like we've visited in the east. A 1950's proud trophy in parade-livry on a gravel square.
A new start
In September 2007, I dusted of many old unfinished project and started again.
The 90's
Well, I always was more of a collector than a builder, but I'll keep it brief. Many of these models have been "recycled" several times. There is always something to improve...
Patriot scale 1 to 50. (May 1988)
Together with Theo Naus, who did the groundwork and took most of the pictures, a diorama with a Patriot launcher was made for the celebration of 75 years Royal Dutch Airforce.
The initial question was: can you build 2 matching DAF-tractors to these models? After a shocked "NO!" when I asked if I was allowed to paint the radar and rocket trailer I scratch-build both trailers and with the nice supply of pictures it turned out to be 4 DAF trucks and 3 trailers. We situated the battery in a ploughed field between forests. It only seemed natural. Well it was fun to do anyway. I wonder whether the diorama still exists....
The 80's
Most builders my age claim they started early. I can prove it, but luckily the pictures are not so sharp. A selection to create some atmosphere.
