Robert-Jan de Wit
Facts:
Construction year: 1977
In production since: 1985 (Tanks and planes in 1/72. Camouflaged with a big black marker
Re-release: ca 2000 (first 1/72 planes and tanks, than 1/35 diorama’s and now scratch 54mm figurs)
Living in: Jirnsum
Other occupation: special needs teacher
Modelling favourites: The human side of warfare. Current main interests: War in the Pacific, Freikorps, American Civil War, KNIL, Colonial wars, etc.
Other favourite subject(s): Finding references/documentation on KNIL and medieval Friesian wariors. Converting them into illustrations for my projects
Other: Since my restart at modelling I have discovered the works of Bill Horan and Mike Blank. This has minimized my interest for the mechanical side of war…and it saves me from constructing link-to-link styrene tracks. My absolute horror was a completely burnt figure, "Blindfold and Alone"after an attempt to speed up drying time in the oven. Favourite model: 'The Devil's Virtuosos" (my own) and "Gandamak" by Bill Horan.
Fiction: I go for a "slim" figure
