Fred Kort

Facts:

Construction year:

1960 (also the year that the American "U2" spy plane shot was down over the USSR.)

In production since:

somewhere about 1968. My brother started building airplains. As a headstrong younger brother I needed my own kits. I started with large warships as the 'Bismarck' (scale 1:570 Revell). Many ships followed.

Re-release:

In 1986 I got married and we got our own house. I build my first H0 modell railroad. On "rail" (a great train exhibition in 's Hertogenbosch I first encountered Big Dutch trains in G scale. That's what I wanted. In 2007 I sold all my 350 H0 trainmodells. With the money I bought a NS 200, 1100 and 1200 from Stoom&Spoor in The Hague. To safe some money for food, wife and children, I started to scratchbuild my own 1/26 scale Dutch loco's. Its the best thing I did with my hobby.

Living in:

Leuth, a small village east of Nijmegen. Frontline in September 1944. And, no, we have no railroad.

Other occupation:

Greenpolicy employee at the city of Ubbergen

Modelling favourites:

Dutch dieselloco's and Dutch railroad lane furniture.

Other favourite subject(s):

SAAB 96 car modells. I had one after I worked in Sweden. Sweden is also one of my favourite countrys. I like the endless forests, with moose, lakes and small picturesque towns. I also have a big collection of Swedish coins. The Rolling Stones are my favourite rockband. I've seen all their concerts in Holland since 1995. I like a good glass of brown rum, mixed or straight. And with this mix I try to scratchbuild my way to the top with a little help from my (SMF) friends.

Other:

All things you want to know more, just ask.

Fiction:

To stay with my brothers fiction and the destiny off a scratchbuilder: "the longest cut is always in my fingers"
