Chris ClaytonGalleryBiographySMF is proud to present Chris Clayton (UK) as one of our special guests on SMC 2010. We consider Chris to be one of the most talented people in the figure scene. He is gifted with a talent that comes to only a handful of people: his sculpting and painting skills are both extremely high and you can see this for yourself at SMC 2010. Chris bought and painted his first role-playing miniature in 1985 and has been fascinated by fantasy and science fiction modelling ever since. He won several competitions and exhibited work locally for a number of years until he went to University. He graduated with first class honours in Illustration and worked for some time as a designer. All of this time he continued modelling, experimenting with different scales and always trying to improve his techniques. During the last few years Chris has been concentrating more on scratch building and sculpting. Entering Euromilitaire for the first time in 2007 was a massive source of inspiration for him and since then entering has become one of the highlights of his modelling year. He nearly won Best in Show at Euromilitaire 2008 with his amazing Giant Killer, but luckily has a lot more up his sleeve. Mainly operating in the realm of Fantasy figures, his work is of such high quality that it attracts the attention of even those dedicated to completely different sides of our hobby.
Chris is currently living in South West England with his wife and a big old black cat. Chris is spending all of the rest of his time working hard on producing his own range of large scale fantasy figures that hopefully can be presented at SMC 2010. |
Tony GreenlandGalleryBiographyTony Greenland (UK) is one of those people that has been around in the AFV modelling scene for a while and has definitely put his mark on the hobby. He certainly set standards to the terms scratch building and super detailing. His book Panzer Modelling Master Class is being considered as the AFV bible by many. Tony's scratch building skills are unrivalled, and his models are as accurately detailed as possible in 1/35th scale.
His painting style has evolved through time, following all of the current finishing trends, but in his Panzer Modelling book he unforgettably stated: "I'm frequently being criticised for my finish, which some describe as "too pretty". I make no excuse for this. ….my collection is planned to represent the vehicles used by the German Wehrmacht, not the mud and dust they fought in!"
Amongst the members of Scale Model Factory, Tony is considered as a major source of inspiration and his models as a standard in our hobby. Tony will show scratch building techniques throughout the day and will have several of his well known models on display during SMC 2010. |
