Claude was one of our guests on the Scale Model Challenge 2010

Claude Joachim originates form Luxemburg, where he still lives today with his wife and son. Working as a customs officer, Claude is much occupied with scale modelling in his spare time. He picked up the hobby as little as 7 years ago, inspired by his son Eric's Warhammer fascination and already he is building one of the most renown dioramas worldwide, the Clerveaux Castle, of which the first part was started some 5 years ago after only a few attempts with smaller dioramas.

Being from Luxemburg, his obvious main interest is the Battle of the Bulge and the Clerveaux diorama is undisputedly the result of this interest. What started out as a relatively normal project soon turned out to grow into one of the largest dioramas in the world, when it will be finished. The total diorama will measure 3.5 x 2.2 meters, and will consist of 9 sections. The first four sections that are impressive enough already, can be watched at SMC2010. Claude has also published a book about this diorama and the story behind it and this book is also for sale at his stand at SMC 2010.
